I was lucky enough to receive my first VoxBox courtesy of Influenster. I was so excited when I received the email! To be honest I never thought I’d get a box so I was super happy especially as it was from Bourjois Paris as they are one of my favourite brands.
If you don’t know what Influenster is I’ll give you a little lowdown before I get on with my review. Influenster is a website that partners with so many companies to send consumers like you and me to test out products in exchange for an honest review. You can sign up HERE. You might be wondering what a VoxBox is as I know when I kept seeing it all over social media I was like WHATTT. I had no idea. So it’s basically a box that Influenster send you to review, they will be from a certain brand with products inside usually full size. The boxes are themed by seasons or by a brands new launch. In the Bourjois box I received 8 full size products but it just depends on what campaign you get selected for. So that’s it, I hope that kinda made sense for you guys. I might write a full review about Influenster as I know a few of you on Twitter were so confused by it all and I kinda think now after reviewing my first box it would be a good time so please let me know if you would like that in the comments below.
The Voxbox I received was the Bourjois Holiday Collection and guys OMG. I opened it and was like WOWW. The products inside were just gorgeous. The main products inside were the Rouge Velvet Lipsticks, the shades are just perfect for winter and I’m pretty sure by the end of the season I would have wore these out.
Top – Brunette / Middle – Magni-fig / Bottom – Berry Formidable.
I have tried all three but my favourite has to be Berry Formidable although honestly I’ll be wearing them all. The style of applicator is the best as it’s super easy to put on and if your someone who doesn’t have much time to get ready in a morning because you like sleep too much just like me the lipsticks are super quick to put on. I found the pigmentation pretty amazing and the staying power of these lipsticks are incredible, they are also creamy but not drying like you’d find with other matte lipsticks which I loved. Throughout the day I kept checking to see if the lipstick had smudged but it hadn’t, I mean I’d had lunch and snacks and it was still as perfect as when I’d put it on which I was really impressed with. I definitely think I’ll be buying from this range in the future as I just can’t get over how nice the Rouge Velvet lipsticks are.
As well as the lipsticks there were also some other products from Bourjois to complete the holiday look. I honestly didn’t think I’d be getting so many products and was so overwhelmed with everything. On to the rest of the products..
I’d heard so many good things about the Healthy Mix foundation and concealer and was so excited to try them out. I received the foundation in shade Rose Ivory and the concealer in Light and they were the perfect shades for me. I didn’t know if they were going to be as I’d never used these before and just had to guess really but I’m really pleased I got the right shades. My skin right now isn’t the best, it’s kinda dry/oily so I was worried how the foundation would go on but with my beauty blender it went on well and smooth and you only need a small amount as a little goes a long way. The coverage isn’t the best but it can be built up, I normally wear quite a full coverage foundation but I liked this one for a lighter finish. The concealer I actually loved. I’ve always got really dark bags under my eyes and struggle to cover them but this actually did quite well. It also didn’t crease which is always a plus. What I also like about both of these is that they are enriched with Vitamin B5, C and E which helps to provide a radiant complexion.
The Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara (black) I found really nice to put on. It wasn’t clumpy and it separated my lashes really well. I’m not really a fan of false lashes as I have no idea how to put them on.. so I’m always on the lookout for a mascara that can make my lashes longer and this one does that. I completely forgot to take a picture of the wand but it’s definitely a mascara that I’d use again and again.
I honestly don’t wear blush that often and when I do I only wear a little. The Bourjois blush in Rose D’or is very pink and has a little glitter running through it, I don’t think I’d use this everyday. It’s more of a going out blush and a little goes a long way. I mean the packaging is very pretty but it’s not the blush for me.
The eyeshadow palette is beautiful. It’s called “Smoky Stories” and I love the colours in it. I’m sure it would be great to go from a day to night look. Each colour blends really nicely and I would normally wear the colours on the palette, well apart from the glitter in the middle but it’s super pigmented and overall it’s a great little palette.
